Have you ever gone to a concert and expected the support band to be one thing when in fact, they turn out to be something else entirely? Thankfully, this happens to me a lot!

In particular, I was sent out to photograph Baby Animals and the Screaming Jets recently, and their support was a band that I’d never heard of before called ‘Palace of the King‘.

They came out on stage wearing paisley pants and had a psychedelic cloth underneath their keyboard case/stand, and I instantly thought they were going to bust out into some Stoner Rock.

Don’t get me wrong, I love stoner rock but my eye saw one thing and when they started playing it was something else entirely, and I was mesmerised. The look, the lighting and the music all magically came together to create one hell of an experience, and I went to town snapping almost 500 photos during the three song allocation.

Their song ‘Let The Blood Run Free’ is now firmly planted on my Spotify playlist, be sure to check them out.

Highly recommended.
