Pictures of me at GTM

Well this doesn’t happen very often at all but it look at what my good friend Carl Neumann managed to snap a few photos of me while we were between sets at Groovin The Moo and I think they turned out fantastic despite the fact that I’m standing in front of the camera instead of behind it.

It’s a bit strange to me being on the other side of a camera but sometimes I just have to stop being such a control freak I guess and it helps that I know Carl is a great photographer.

Anyway, I don’t have many shots of me ‘out in the field’ so I wanted to share these ones here. I love the tones and the colour and magic hour is just a damn nice time of the day to be out and about at a music festival with a camera.

Family Time in Beanbags

Quality family time is hard to come by these days so when the sun is out we like to get out of the house and chill in beanbags near the water while we watch movie and take photos.

There was a local event happening where they were playing some kids movie by the water (Finding Nemo maybe?) and we took the opportunity to head out into the sunshine for a while to co-mingle with other like minded people.

Miranda wanted to have a play around with a camera and I had borrowed a little Olympus thing from work so I wanted to snap a few pictures myself. Luckily. Miranda was happy to be my model for a few minutes before the movie started.

Taking Some Time Out With Roo

I think these may have been taken during school holidays maybe? Anyway, it was one of those rare days when Roo and I had some time together so we decided to jump on the train, head into the city and have lunch with mum plus do a little exploring of the city.

I’d borrowed a Olympus E-M5 to try out and although the purpose of this trip wasn’t specifically for taking photos, I found that this little camera was fantastic for carrying around on a trip like this.

As always, Roo was more than happy to be my test model for a little while.

Self Portraits

Because we all need a decent self portrait at some point right?

I don’t get the courage to step in front of the camera often but there’s no denying that it’s something that should be done by every photographer at some point.

If nothing else, it’s a good way to test lighting set ups and to try out new editing techniques without all the pressure of having to deliver anything tangible because if it doesn’t work all you have to do is hit the delete button.
